Letter From Fr. Andrzej

Updated May 13, 2020

Dear OLP Parishioners,

We are very excited that we are able to hold public Mass once again, even with limited attendance. Thank you for being patient as we prayerfully move forward while following the guidelines set by our Diocese and the State of Colorado. As regulations change we will adapt and change with them.

PLEASE NOTE: A dispensation from the Sunday and Holy Day obligation to participate in the Mass remains in place for all Catholics until further notice. Anyone who is “at-risk” or does not feel comfortable attending a public gathering should stay home.  If you feel sick or have been in contact with someone who is sick, please stay home for your safety and the safety of our parishioners.

Online Mass will continue. To ensure that those who stay at home still have Mass available, we will continue to offer online Masses each Sunday by 8:00am to be viewed at your convenience.

We have modified our Mass schedule slightly with 4:30pm on Saturday and 8:30am, 11:30am and 5:30pm on Sunday. Masses will be celebrated in the worship area of the Church as normal.

The only way you may attend any Mass is to sign up ahead of time: no walk-ins are allowed.  The link to sign-up was emailed to all of our registered parishioners on Wednesday, May 13th. If you are having any trouble with this process, please call our office Monday-Friday at 719-495-2351 between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm and a staff member will assist you.

WHAT YOU MUST KNOW BEFORE YOU SIGN-UP:

  • MANDATORY SIGN-UP: Mass attendance will be by reservation only so that we remain in compliance with the "Safer at Home" order and guidelines by the Diocese of Colorado Springs. You must be a registered parishioner. You will be given assigned seating upon entering the church at your assigned Mass time. You must sit in your assigned row and seat.

  • STRICT SOCIAL DISTANCING: We will observe strict social distancing and the number of people attending each Mass will be greatly reduced. Please understand that, although we know it is difficult not to visit with friends, congregating before or after Mass is not permissible for the sake of everyone's good health. You may enter through the main doors only.

  • FOR NOW, ONE MASS PER PERSON:  Please only sign up for one Weekend Mass during the month of May. We are sorry for this inconvenience but we want everyone to have a chance to attend who has the desire to do so. If you sign up for more than one Mass, you may be removed from the additional Masses for which you register.

  • MASKS AND TEMPERATURE CHECKS ARE MANDATORY: Masks are mandatory for everyone age 3 and older with no exceptions! If you do not have a mask, you will not be allowed to attend the Mass. Please make sure to instruct your young children on how to wear a mask and that they must keep it on while attending Mass. Please begin wearing your mask once you exit you vehicle. Everyone entering our Church buildings will be checked for elevated temperature.  Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will not be allowed in the building along with everyone in their household party. Please do not come if you, or anyone in your party, are feeling ill or have been sick in the previous two weeks.

  • Please arrive at the church 20-25 minutes prior to the Mass time.

  • CLEANING: The Mass Team will disinfectant the church to the best of their ability in between Masses. Feel free to bring hand sanitizer with you and disinfectant wipes as well, if it helps you feel more comfortable.

We look forward to having you join us for the upcoming weekends if you are comfortable coming! Thank you all for your patience and I look forward to seeing you at Mass soon.

In Christ’s amazing love,

Fr. Andrzej
