Our vision for Our Lady of the Pines is for parishioners to recognize that time is a UNIQUELY VALUABLE gift from God; one that is unique to each person and that cannot be bought, sold, or stopped. We ask for parishioners to stop and think of God first in everything we do with our time every day, then invest it, not just spend it.
At Our Lady of the Pines, we practice stewardship as a life of total accountability and responsibility acknowledging God as Creator and Owner of all. Stewardship includes responsible management of our God-given resources of time, talent, and treasure. We live the gospel message of Jesus Christ, who told us that whatever we do for the least of these, we do for Him. Consequently, we practice stewardship by praying gratefully, serving responsibly, and giving generously. We practice being generous stewards of our treasure by tithing as a parish (i.e., designating 10% or our offertory to specific causes outside our parish), by exceeding our goal in contributing to the Diocesan Annual Appeal for ten of the past eleven years, by funding capital improvements, and by being one of only a small number of parishes in the diocese that consistently operates in the black.
