By volunteering!  Journey together with Our Lady of the Pines members and help others in our community.  Feed the hungry, pray for the sick, serve donuts and coffee, teach children about God’s love, welcome visitors and Parish members, sing to the congregation – the possibilities are endless!

Afraid you don’t have enough time?

It’s a common concern.  The ministries vary but all offer a wide range of needs and could require as little as an hour or two of your time a month.

Don’t know what to do?

Don’t worry, Our Lady of the Pines devoted ministry volunteers were once in your very shoes and would love to teach you the joy of giving back.

Pick a ministry you think you’d like.  Give it a try.  Journeying together with other Our Lady of the Pines members, you will be given the chance to let the gifts God gave you shine.

Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.

Hebrews 13:2

     The Beatitudes

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”
Matthew 5:3-12

The teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount on the meaning and way to true happiness … they portray the countenance of Christ and describe his charity.  Moreover, by shedding light on the actions and attitudes characteristic of the Christian life, they describe the vocation of all the faithful.
Catechism of the Catholic Church

You are the light of the world.  A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.  Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.
Matthew 5:14-16
