Worship Ministries
Proclaimers are called to grow in a warm and
loving knowledge of Scripture, so that through them God's Living Word continues to
be proclaimed to his people.
Eucharistic Ministers are called to a special service.
They assist the presider in the distribution of the Eucharist. They are God-bearers.
Music Ministers lead the assembly in praise and thanksgiving.
Altar Servers assist the presider and deacon.
All the members of the Liturgy Commission are familiar with the
various sacramental rites. They study the theological, pastoral, and liturgical guidelines to
plan liturgies that bridge the gap between the secular and the divine.
Prayer Leaders for Liturgy of the Word With Children
help form our children in the liturgical language of the church, nourish and guide their spiritual
growth, and immerse them in the Word in ways that are understandable to them.
SCAP Leaders, as servants, help us celebrate the
Eucharist in times when we anticipate a priest to lead us in celebration of the Mass, but he
unexpectedly is not available.
Social Ministries
As a Stewardship diocese, OLP tithes 9% of our regular Offertory
collection to many organizations such as: Honduras Missions; San Luis Valley; Hospice of the
Comforter, the Arc; CASA; Bishop's Overseas Appeal; Bijou House; S.E.T. Life Support Center;
Catholic Communication Campaign; Adult Learning; Partners in Housing; Center on Fathering;
Peter's Pence; YMCA Scholarship Fund; Mexican Missions; ESM; Retired Religious; Greccio; Life
Support Center; St. Mary's High School; Holy Trinity; Corpus Christi School; Divine Redeemer;
OLP Emergency fund.
BeFriender Ministers are trained to respond to those
in need by walking with a person as a listening presence.
Funeral Receptions provide food and service after
funerals to help support the families of our parish who have lost a loved one.
Meals for those who are in need; for those who have
returned from the hospital, injured, unable to cook for themselves and their families,
we provide food for a limited time.
OLP Parishioners, (i.e., the Knights of Columbus and
Auxiliary) help where ever there is a need.
The Giving Tree supplies at least 400 Christmas gifts to
area children.
Food for Black Forest Care is brought by our families during Mass.
Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets for the needy in our area.
