The mission of Adult Formation is to provide ongoing faith formation that enables
adults to understand and experience their Church and faith at increasingly deeper
levels and to influence a deeper relationship with God.
As a faith community we WELCOME ALL who come to us. Whether you are a member of
our faith community, visiting our faith community for the first time, have been
away from the Church, or if you are looking for more information about the Catholic
Church and faith, we have something for everyone.
Remembering Church ~ Have you been away from the Church for awhile,
or are you looking to update your knowledge of the Catholic Church and Catholic
teaching? All of us have had questions, struggles and both positive and negative
experiences with the Catholic Church. Our Lady of the Pines has an 8 week series
of sessions that are designed, not to coerce, or convince anyone to return to participation
in the Church, but to help one another take the next step in each person’s spiritual
journey. Remembering Church will start sessions sometime in Lent (dates to be determined).
Adult Confirmation ~ Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that
calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods,
society, and the world. Through Confirmation our personal relationship with Christ
is strengthened. If you are an adult Catholic (18 yrs. or older) who has never been
confirmed, we can help you to prepare to celebrate this very special Spirit-filled
Sacrament.
Morning Scripture Study ~ It’s never too late to join us! Our Sunday
morning Scripture study takes place every Sunday morning from 9:15-10:15 am in the
parish hall downstairs. COME JOIN US ANY TIME!
RCIA ~ The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults The journey
of faith traverses a highway of temptation and grace. For Christians and the Un-baptized,
it rises through a period called the catechumenate, and delivers it travelers safely
home with the sacraments of Initiation.
RCIA is a process for Non-Catholics who are seeking more information about the Catholic
Church or who are interested in becoming a Catholic. Through out the process you
will be able to ask questions, learn about Church teachings, beliefs, traditions,
worship, experience prayer, spiritual growth and personal change. We welcome all
who have an interest in the Catholic Faith. There is also an RCIA for children process
for children 7 years and older who have never been baptized. Contact Vickie Welsh
if you have questions or would like further details.
